This cotton core waxed wick "E" type is coated in wax to help it burn better. The wax coating on the wick makes the candle easier to light, and also helps the wick stand up straight inside the pool of liquid wax, which is formed while the candle burns.
Cotton core waxed wick "E" type wick is recommended for use in votive candles. Also known as "E" wick.

Cotton Core Wick is made for various candle systems such as votive candles, pillars and containers. Cotton Core Wick produces a robust flame and can help reduce carbon build-up throughout the burn cycle. These wicks provide increased rigidity in the molten wax pool.
