Add a sunny yellow hue to your handmade candles with Yellow Candle Dye Chips. This concentrated candle color can produce a bright yellow shade in paraffin wax and a softer, creamy yellow in soy wax.

Each package contains 20 easy-to-use, diamond-shaped dye chips—enough to color approximately 10 to 11 lbs. of candle wax. The solid chips are convenient to measure, store, and add to melted wax without the spills or accidental overpouring associated with liquid candle dyes.

Use Yellow Candle Dye Chips to add vibrant color to container candles, pillar candles, votives, wax melts, novelty candles, and other candle-making projects. Yellow works especially well for spring collections, citrus-inspired designs, floral candles, and cheerful year-round creations.

Yellow Color in Soy Wax vs. Paraffin Wax

The finished shade depends in part on the wax you choose. Yellow Candle Dye Chips may produce a brighter, more saturated color in paraffin wax. In soy wax, the naturally creamy appearance of the wax can soften the result into a lighter, warmer yellow.

The final color may also be affected by the amount of dye used, the fragrance oil, the natural color of the wax, and other ingredients in your candle formula. We recommend making a small test batch before producing larger quantities.

How to Use Yellow Candle Dye Chips

    1. Melt your candle wax according to the wax manufacturer’s recommended instructions.
    2. Add your fragrance oil before making the final color adjustment, since some fragrance oils may change the appearance of the wax.
    3. Add the desired amount of Yellow Candle Dye Chips to the melted wax.
    4. Stir thoroughly until the chips have completely melted and the color is evenly dispersed.
    5. Place a few drops of the colored wax onto a piece of white paper.
    6. Allow the sample to cool completely to see a more accurate representation of the finished color.
    7. Add more dye gradually if you want a deeper yellow shade.
    8. Record how much dye you used so you can recreate the same color in future batches.

Candle dye usually appears darker in hot, melted wax and becomes lighter after cooling. Always evaluate the color after the wax sample has completely cooled.

    Create Different Shades of Yellow

Adjust the amount of candle dye to suit your design. Start with a small amount for a soft, pale yellow, then add more gradually for a stronger, more vivid shade. Testing a cooled sample between additions helps you avoid using more dye than you need.

For repeatable results, record the dye amount alongside your wax and fragrance formula. Changes to any of those ingredients can change how the final yellow appears.

    Important Testing Information

Results may vary between wax formulas. Fragrance oils and other additives can alter the final shade, so testing is recommended before making a full production batch.

Adding too much dye may affect wick performance. Always conduct a complete test burn using your chosen wax, fragrance oil, dye concentration, container, and wick before selling or using finished candles.
