Yellow Liquid Candle Dye

Add cheerful, vibrant color to your handmade candles with Yellow Liquid Candle Dye. This concentrated candle colorant can create shades ranging from soft butter yellow and sunny lemon to rich golden yellow, depending on the type of wax and amount of dye used.

Yellow liquid dye generally produces a brighter, more saturated shade in paraffin wax and a softer, more muted yellow in soy wax.

Liquid candle dye is convenient for both small test batches and larger candle-making projects because it is easy to measure, mix, and reproduce. Use it to color container candles, pillar candles, votives, tealights, wax melts, and other wax-based creations. Yellow is an excellent choice for citrus, floral, spring, summer, sunflower, honey-inspired and cheerful seasonal candle collections.

The finished shade will depend on the type of wax, the amount of dye used, fragrance oil, additives, and the natural color of the wax. 

Begin with a small amount and add more dye as needed. Melted wax usually looks darker than cooled wax, so always evaluate a fully cooled sample before pouring the full batch.

Avoid adding excessive dye, as too much colorant can affect wick performance, fragrance, and the way the candle burns.

Creating custom colors

Yellow Liquid Candle Dye can be blended with other compatible liquid candle dyes to create custom shades:

• Yellow + orange: Golden yellow, marigold or amber
• Yellow + red: Orange, coral or warm sunset shades
• Yellow + blue: Green, lime or teal-green
• Yellow + brown: Mustard, honey or antique gold
• Yellow + a very small amount of black: Olive or muted yellow
• Small amount of yellow in white wax: Butter yellow, pale lemon or pastel yellow

Add the second color gradually and record every measurement so the formula can be reproduced.
